The architectural photography exhibition "SIZA | Pedro Cardigo" focusing on notable projects of álvaro Siza opened on the 12th of October.

This new and first incursion by the Gramaxo Foundation into the world of architectural photography takes place on the walls of its own author and is about his own work. Pedro Cardigo reveals in black and white the details and contrasts of álvaro Siza's architecture, curated by the architect António Choupina, who knows him so well.

The body of work of álvaro Siza is revisited through the lens of Pedro Cardigo, who returns to the black-and-white origins of early architectural publications, evoking"the wise, correct, and magnificent play of volumes assembled under light" - as Le Corbusier would say.

The discovery of L'Architecture d'Aujourd'Hui in the early 1950s had a profound impact on Siza, sparking in a flash the design of his seminal works, like instant photographs.

In his architectural photography, Pedro Cardigo shows great attention to detail and the way the light works and travels through the structure and its textures, giving his images a special kind of atmosphere. In his black and white photographs we can see the influence of the aesthetics and motifs of classic cinema, present in the way the light falls on the scenes.

Admiration for álvaro Siza's architecture, reflected in the Gramaxo Foundation Museum that he designed, and in so many other notable projects, is now combined with architectural photography in an exhibition at the Foundation's Auditorium, curated by architect António Choupina and with AMAG PUBLISHER as its publishing partner.

展覽已于10月12日正式開幕，將持續到2025年7月，共分三幕展出Pedro Cardigo拍攝的60幅攝影照片，展現阿爾瓦羅·西扎最具代表性的建筑作品。

On the 12th of October was the opening act of this exhibition. This exhibition, which runs until July 2025, is divided into three acts, featuring a total of 60 photographs by Pedro Cardigo of álvaro Siza's most iconic works.
